CORRUPT FILE OTHER THAN HEADER

EG: FILE c:\WINDOWS\PLU.DB

THE TABLE IS CORRUPT.
PARADOX MAY SORT THE PROB OUT.
IF NOT,MANUALY FIND THE CORRUPT RECORD IN THE FILE.

If the table is damaged, Paradox will indeed sort it out. It renames the old table and places an "_" character after the name. PLU.db will be backed up as plu_.db
Please note that this means that paradox will ignore any files that have an underscore in their name. Remove first before repairs.
If the file is very badly damaged, use paradox2.exe instead, as it will prompt you for a file structure. This means it will create new tables, and append the data from the damaged, table.

Your original message implied that sometines this error is addressed by simply deleting the offensive records.
If you are unable to open the table, how then do we get to delete bad data?
